When you own a web site you learn quickly, essentially you become an author. You end up writing article after article first, for the content on your website, then more articles to advertise for it. So, for months you end up collecting data, continually learning as much as possible about your field of expertise then, write until your fingers bleed. I am lucky in that, the super sexy girl who loves me is also a reading and writing specialist with a degree from USC. That means I bore her with my articles, she corrects them and laughs at me, then I take her out for a nice dinner as payment.

For the past 2 weeks, I have been doing several things to generate traffic to www.coolseomd.com. I have written 3 articles, and submitted them to a service I promote on my site called Unique Article Wizard, set up my Social Bookmarking Demon to bookmark this site to social bookmarking sites, and signed up for Directory Maximizer to submit this site to over 1,000 directories. I also submitted my articles to Ezine Articles, because the traffic volume on that site is huge.

Keep in mind my average traffic in a day is about 20 visitors total as of today, Saturday, 4/25/09. Which one do I notice as the biggest contributor within the first week? Ezine Articles, followed by Unique Article Wizard, then Social Bookmarking Demon and last, Directory Maximizer.

Wait, before you make a snap decision, Directory Maximizer will take up to a full 90 days before all 1,000 links will be pointing to my website. I think in the long run, this my be the best choice because the titles, descriptions and tags were written so clearly, that search engines will index this site perfectly with permanent links. Currently CoolSEOMD has about 80 back links pointing to it from across the web.

Social Bookmarking Demon is going to be optimized by the creator for me on Monday to submit this site to social bookmarking sites to its maximum potential. So, I cannot tell how well this link creating tool is working as of yet. Next, Unique Article Wizard has created about 50 back links for my site to date. I just have yet to see the hordes of traffic from the article submissions. This could be my fault. I could have written a lame article that no one is interested in. To see the results of how many back links I got using Unique Article Wizard with an article entitled “10 things I hate about SEO companies and SEO software.” Click here: Unique Article Wizard Results Page. 50 links were gotten in about 10 days, however, more and more will be added everyday because of the viral nature of this kind of article distribution. Finally, Ezine Articles brings me a total of about 6 to 8 new visitors a day. It took about 5 days for my article to be approved, but currently this article and placement location is bringing in the most traffic, and this one is FREE! Only 980 new visitors needed a day to reach my first goal of 30,000 visitors a month!
